Friday Music Blog-Finger Lakes

Welcome to the Friday Music Blog on Chief 187™Chatter.

Road course racing is in my blood, a part of my legacy, and a source of joy. As the NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers descend on Watkins Glen International to race the Finger Lakes 335 from the Glen on Sunday, my mind blazes with music topics to associate with the event.

To begin, choose songs that have the word “finger(s)” in the lyric or song title of a piece or in an artist/band’s name.

Next, choose songs with the word “wine” in the lyric, song title, or artist/band name. The Finger Lakes region of New York State is known for their quality wines/vineyards. There usually is some method to my madness!

Songs with the word “road” is next –again, in the title of the song, lyric, or in the artist/band name.

Lastly, as the track motto is “Racing only Twisted”, list songs with the word “twisted” in the title, lyrics, or in the artist/band name.

This is an interactive blog so please, whether you have been reading since Day 1 (Hi Jules, Art Tidesco, and Racer 187), are somewhere in the middle, or are brand new to the post and are enjoying the concept, feel free to leave your selections below.

And be sure to check back to this post throughout the day and weekend as new selections are added all of the time.

Weekends are also a great time to read any and all articles you may have missed or interest you in the archives. Recipes from Tantalizing Thursday can be explored, movies or television shows from the Monday Media Blog can be selected, and great reads can be found throughout – Simple Joys and Freestyle Wednesday.

Please join me on Monday as I begin another week of all new, fresh, and original posts on Chief 187™Chatter.

  1. Stinky Finger was a band from Johnson City, Tenn.
April Wine was a one-hit wonder with Sign of the Gypsy Queen. Country Road is a song that I used to sing my kids to sleep by JT. Twisted Sister has always been and entertaining band.
